The Davis Water Polo Club is offering its Fall Beginning Water Polo Clinic to boys and girls beginning this week. After a pair of free sessions (Tuesday and Thursday) that are open to kids of all ages from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., the paid clinics begin Sunday and run through Oct. 31.
The sessions begin Sunday at UCD’s Schaal Aquatics Center with players in fourth grade or younger meeting each Sunday afternoon from 4 to 5 p.m.
The eighth-grade and under and sixth-grade and under groups meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. beginning Sept. 10.
For more information, contact coach Jamey Wright at 530-758-1234 or email@example.com.
Professional runner Chelsea Reilly, a Davis High graduate who holds the program’s career record in the 1,600 meters and went on to be an All-American at Cal, is presenting a sports training workshop on Sept. 15 to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through Team in Training.
The workshop, which will be at the Davis High track from 10 a.m. to noon, is designed for anyone interested in improving performance and preventing injuries.
All levels are welcome with a $25 cash donation or check made out to LLS. Participants should wear exercise clothes and shoes and bring a water bottle. Those who have jump ropes are urged to bring them as well.
