Pacific came to town on Wednesday to complete a Big West Conference softball series that began last week.
Unfortunately, most of the UC Davis Aggies didn’t come to play as the Tigers took a 6-0 decision at La Rue Field.
Pacific (26-20, 11-4) built a four-run advantage by scoring once in the first and third innings, and twice in the fifth — all unearned runs due to miscues committed by UCD (17-22, 4-8).
In addition to a passed ball, the Aggies committed three errors throughout the afternoon.
That lead could have been a larger one had it not been for the fourth-inning pitching prowess of UCD starter Justine Vela. The sophomore standout picked up two of her nine strikeouts in that frame to help end the threat.
Jasmine Lee and pinch hitter Krista Bava were responsible for the Aggies’ only two hits.
