The Davis High School Freedom from Hunger Club will present a “Race to End Hunger,” an all-comers track meet, on Saturday, June 18, at Ron & Mary Brown Stadium on campus.
The event will give community athletes of all ages a chance to compete in traditional track and field events with fully automated timing on Davis High’s all-weather track. Athletes can compete in any number of “Race to End Hunger” events for a flat fee of $10 for adults and $7 for children 12 and younger.
Participants will register at the gate at 8 a.m. the day of the event, and races will begin at 9 a.m.
A portion of each athlete’s fee will be donated to Freedom from Hunger, a Davis-based international nonprofit that gives small loans to women in developing countries so they can start their own businesses and feed their families.
