Twelve Blue Devils official sign with college programs

At least a dozen Davis High athletes will compete for college programs next year after signing National Letters of Intent on Wednesday, according to a list provided by Blue Devil athletic director Dennis Foster. Eight of those elite athletes got together Wednesday at DHS to officially sign with their new schools. Heather Johnson will play water polo at UC Davis; Kathleen Benjamin will swim for UC Santa Barbara; Matt Whittle joins the swim team at Berkeley; Garrett Fisk is the next water polo standout at Air Force; Sophie Meads will run for Loyola University in Chicago; Lauren Owens joins the Loyola Marymount water polo team; Alex Rieger will swim for Georgia Tech and UCLA’s baseball team gets Matt Trask. Also reportedly signing Wednesday were Kaitlyn Lagattuta, who will play softball at Stanford; Jonathan Pun, who joins Pacific’s swim team; Amy Reid, who heads to Missouri State to play field hockey; and Alex LaFreniere, who will swim for Cal Poly.
