RADFORD, Va. Ñ The UC Davis field hockey team has received two individual weekly awards, it was announced Monday by the NorPac Conference. Sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Sawvelle has been named the West Division NorPac Defensive Player of the Week, while freshman forward Cloey LemMon has been named the NorPac Rookie of the Week.

The award marks Sawvelle’s first of the season and LemMon’s third consecutive Rookie of the Week accolade.

Sawvelle held No. 16-ranked Stanford to just one goal in regulation, while tallying eight saves in the process. The Cardinal came into the contest averaging three goals per game.

LemMon started her first collegiate game vs. Stanford. Despite the 2-1 overtime loss for the Aggies, LemMon played a significant amount of minutes and helped UCD hold the Cardinal offense in check.

UCD will be back on the road this week, playing three games in an east coast swing vs. Northwestern, Indiana and Ball State, starting with Northwestern on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m.
