Wildcats, Devils are hungry for a DVC win

Two football teams looking for their first Delta Valley Conference victory will clash on Friday night when Franklin is at Ron & Mary Brown Stadium to take on Davis High.

Both squads wish they could have done last week differently …

For the Blue Devils (4-2, 0-1), the 21-14 loss to Monterey Trail is one coaches said could have been avoided with a more disciplined performance. The Wildcats (3-3, 0-1), meanwhile, got down early to Grant, then were done in by a late turnover in falling 30-20.

While the DHS defense has shown it can be counted on for most of the season, the Devils know offensive production will be key to a win Friday. If Davis is to come out on top, the passing attack will have its energy from last week — when quarterback Quinten Jones hooked up with receiver Nate Curtis for a pair of TDs — and the ground game must get back to its early-season dominance.
