Wire briefs: Kings fall to Utah in OT

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Randy Foye had 20 points, including six in overtime, and the Utah Jazz defeated the Sacramento Kings, 98-91, on Monday.

Paul Millsap had 14 points, adding a key block, a step-back jumper and a rebound in the extra session for the Jazz, who used an 8-0 fourth-quarter run to take the lead with 2:40 left in regulation.

Jason Thompson led the Kings with a season-high 23 points, and Tyreke Evans added 20 but had a key turnover in overtime.

Sacramento played the second half without leading scorer DeMarcus Cousins, who was ejected for arguing with officials at midcourt during the halftime break.

Cousins started 4-of-4 and finished 5-of-8 with 10 points and six rebounds.

Sharks suffer first regulation loss

ANAHEIM (AP) — Saku Koivu scored the tying goal early in the third period, defenseman Sheldon Souray netted the winner with 6:39 left, and rookie Viktor Fasth made 25 saves as the Anaheim Ducks handed the San Jose Sharks their first regulation loss of the season, 2-1 on Monday.

The Sharks, who won their first seven games before a 2-1 shootout loss to Nashville on Saturday, lead the Pacific Division by two points over the Ducks. Fasth is the first Anaheim goalie to win his first three NHL starts.

San Jose’s Thomas Greiss, returning to the site of his NHL debut back in January 2008, stopped Anaheim’s first 24 shots and allowed only a second-period goal to Logan Couture.
