Yolo Post 77 tops Orland

By From page B1 | July 18, 2014

While the Post 77 offense struggled, its pitching staff was up to the task as Yolo topped the Orland Tigers 6-2 Thursday in Orland.
Post 77 hurler Dalton Sachs worked six innings, giving up one run while striking out six and walking none.
Yolo took a brief lead in the top of the fifth as Davis High’s Daniel Henrickson knocked in a run. However, Orland knotted the score in the bottom of the seventh off Post 77 reliever James Schwenger.
In the eighth inning, the Tigers had two runners on and appeared ready to blow the game open. However, Carlos Enriquez took the mound for Yolo in relief and promptly struck out the Orland hitter to end the threat.
In the top of the ninth, Post 77’s offense found traction and posted four runs behind Henrickson, who finished with two RBIs. Thomas Galart went 3 for 5 with two runs scored for Yolo.
Post 77 opens Area 1 Tournament action on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Fairfield.
