Young Devils run well at Trojan Invitational

By September 22, 2010

Davis High junior varsity and frosh/soph cross country runners competed at the Trojan Invitational in Folsom on Saturday.

The frosh/soph boys and junior varsity girls led the way for the Blue Devils with second-place finishes, while the junior varsity boys took third place and the frosh/soph girls were fifth.

The performance was even more impressive because, with the normal DHS varsity runners taking the weekend off to rest, the top junior varsity boys chose to compete in the varsity division. That group managed to finish above eight varsity squads and take 11th.

Individually, Sugal Sutter and Paul Mohr led the Devil frosh/soph boys with third- and fourth-place finishes, respectively. Matt Wall was fifth in the junior varsity boys division.

DavisÕ Kathy Dooley, Erika Hashimoto and Jocelyn LaBelle all posted top 10 finishes for the junior varsity girls and Grace Calhoun led the frosh/soph girls by taking 18th place.

Racing against the other schoolsÕ varsity boys, Nico Higuera was 34th for the Blue Devils.
