Monday is the deadline to RSVP for a reception to honor the first recipient of the Jay Gerber Young Community Leader Award. The Rev. Bill Habicht, associate pastor at Davis Community Church, is the honoree.

The event will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Odd Fellows Hall, 415 Second St. in downtown Davis. The hosts are members of the Sunrise Rotary Club of Davis, which is sponsoring the award. A $15 donation will cover appetizers and a no-host bar.

Among Habicht’s accomplishments since moving to Davis in 2005 are the creation of the Interfaith Rotating Winter Shelter, the Youth Leadership Institute, Radiate Art and the future Mosaic Tea and Coffee House.
